Pinotreport.com Rating of our 2006 Pinot Noir

Fotinos Brothers Winery

The winemaking legacy in the Fotinos family goes back to the end of the 19th century and Lefkas, Greece, where Christos Fotino was taught the traditions of winemaking by his grandfather. When Christos immigrated to the United States he after a time began farming his own vineyard in Sonoma. His children and grandchildren learned about winemaking the same way he did—by doing it. Tom Fotinos, son of Christos, established his own vineyard in Napa and made his own award-winning Pinot Noir in the 1970s. The fourth generation of Fotinos established Fotinos Brothers Winery in the Carneros in honor of their father, who passed away in 1983. Sons Tom and Chris Fotinos and their wives run the winery—Tom Fotinos is winemaker, his wife Danielle is vineyard manager; Chris Fotinos is director of sales and marketing, his wife Leesa is director of public relations. 2006 was their first commercial vintage—a Cabernet Sauvignon and a Pinot Noir were produced.
